Truffle hunting is a cherished tradition and passion that has always been part of our family, passed down from generation to generation. Our deep love for nature, the magnificent Tuscan landscape, and animals inspired us to continue this special practice. It all started with our grandfather, one of the first truffle hunters in the area, and later, thanks to our father, we decided to share this unique and traditional passion with others, fully immersing them in nature.

By joining this experience, you will have the opportunity to live a truly unique day that includes an authentic truffle hunt alongside us. We will take you on this adventure in our jeeps, accompanied by our friendly, well-trained dogs—Luna, Stella, and Mina. After the hunt, we will return to our Podere, where the experience continues in the kitchen with a fresh pasta-making class, followed by a complete truffle-based lunch or dinner. You will enjoy this meal together with us and our family in our ancient Tuscan home in Chianti, dating back to the 1600s.

This experience is designed for those who, like us, have a deep passion for animals, nature, and local culture, or for anyone simply curious to discover this traditional and historic practice, which dates back to 3000 BC and continues to provide excitement and extraordinary flavors to this day.

Truffle Hunting Schedule

The truffle hunt begins in the morning (or, depending on daylight hours and weather conditions, it may also take place in the afternoon). We will meet at Podere Vergianoni, then head into the beautiful Tuscan woods, guided by our exceptional dogs. During this immersive experience, you will discover the secrets, techniques, and history of this ancient profession.

Once the hunt is over, we will return to Podere Vergianoni, where you can choose how to conclude your experience:

1. Option 1: Truffle Tasting Lunch/Dinner – Enjoy a full tasting experience featuring the truffles you found, paired with a selection of local gastronomic specialties. These include traditional bruschettas, locally produced cheeses from nearby dairies, and a curated selection of wines from regional wineries.
2. Option 2: Complete Truffle Experience with Cooking Class and Lunch/Dinner – For an even more immersive experience, extend your adventure by preparing fresh homemade pasta together. This will be followed by a delightful lunch or dinner, where you can enjoy your handmade dishes enriched with the truffles you found. The meal will be served in a warm, convivial atmosphere, in true Italian tradition.

This moment is not only about savoring the delicacies prepared throughout the experience—from the truffle hunt to the final tasting at the table—but also about sharing memories, traditions, and stories in a spirit of true and authentic Italian conviviality. The table will be beautifully set with the dishes created during the course, paired with local wines carefully selected to enhance the flavors of the truffle, the “diamond of the kitchen” that our magnificent region generously provides.
